The Back-Burner: Aerosmith Outtakes & Demos

During Aerosmith’s 2006 outtake based sessions, the band reached out to other songwriters looking for new material; one of them was Diane Warren, who submitted the track “I’ll Get Through It” for the band to consider.

“I’ll get through it” copyright entry

The RealSong demo was a darker ballad. While the verses could have ended themselves to Tyler’s vocals, in the style of IDWTMAT, Blue Eyes Blue and Painted of My Heart, the chorus felt anti-climatic and out of place at times. Production-wise, it was a simple piano-based demo with a temp female vocalist on top, and a full band joining halfway through. The song did not feel like an Aerosmith song or a hit, it was more a product of its time, with the chorus sounding like early 2000’s tracks of Linkin Park.
